DC AdventureWhen majority of us heard that we had to go to Washington DC for an entire day, in the cold, we were not too happy about it. Especially when we found out that we had to find our own transportation around the city and back home. However, the trip turned out to be a learning experience for most of us, especially since it related so much to the book “The Necessity of Strangers” by Alan Gregerman that we focused on during class periods. The book focuses on how networking and communicating with strangers is they key when it comes to being successful. Our ability to network and work well with strangers impacts our chances of succeeding in life. Strangers can help us innovate in ways that benefit us in the long run. The book also focuses on how connecting with strangers can help us build relationships with customers, develop new markets, create more beneficial partnerships, and become a more influential and effective leader. Our trip to Washington DC incorporated all of this and more and it was a major learning experience for those of us that had the chance to participate.
